With the Gold Cup in the history books for another couple of years (we won in a 1-0 scorcher), the countdown turns to that other sort of football. Or it will towards the bottom, at least. Like a healthy immune system, the top five eventually expels all sports-related entities and returns to its natural, concert-only state. This week the esteemed Mr. Bieber recaptures the top spot from which he was exiled months and months ago.
Pearl Jam hits the countdown in a big way, as their recently announced fall tour heats up. The band will release a new album, Lightning Bolt, ahead of the first tour date, followed by 24 more dates in North America. The band then takes trip down under in January.
Also returning this week, though hardly breaking from touring, is Maroon 5. They’ve been on the road already this summer, and are now teamed up with Kelly Clarkson and Rozzi Crane for the 2013 edition of the Honda Civic Tour. As in previous years, fans can enter a contest to win a Honda Civic with colors customized by the headliners.
The Cowboys and Texans share spots on the countdown this week as the NFL preseason is almost upon us. Very much upon us is the Lollapalooza festival, which begins today and lasts the weekend. Headliners include The Killers, Mumford & Sons, and The Cure.
Wait, The Cure? What year is this!?
